ATOR rejected the cancellation of the all-inclusive format in Turkey
The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) does not expect the cancellation of the all-inclusive format in Turkey. This was announced on February 4 by Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of the association.
"Every year before the summer season, we discuss cancellations of all inclusive. And every year we come to the conclusion that no, "all inclusive" will not be canceled," she said at a press conference.
Lomidze noted that Turkey will remain the leading destination for summer tourism for Russians, even if prices rise by 25-40%. The gap between Turkey and the following countries, such as Egypt, Thailand or the UAE, is too large, so the destination will retain the first place, the association's director assured.
The head of ATOR also called seasonal discussions on format cancellation and price increases traditional, stressing that restrictions on international booking aggregators would not affect the Russian market. According to her, any forecast can be adjusted only in case of an excessive increase in the cost of tours, but even in this case, Turkey will retain its leadership.
At the end of January, it was reported that the Turkish authorities were allegedly considering proposals from the tourism sector to change certain elements of the all-inclusive system in resort hotels. It was clarified that we are not talking about abandoning the popular system, but only about the possible adjustment of its individual details.
Prior to that, on January 12, the owner of one of Antalya's hotels, Mehmet Usta Bilginer, said that Turkish resorts were afraid to make significant changes to the all-inclusive system due to the risk of losing Russian tourists. He noted that this format largely determines the choice of Turkey as a vacation destination and allows tourists to plan their budget in advance.
