India's purchase of hydrocarbons from Russia is beneficial to both countries and contributes to stability in the international energy market. This was announced on February 4 at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"We remain convinced that India's purchase of Russian hydrocarbons is beneficial to both countries," she said.

The diplomat stressed that Russia is ready for closer cooperation in this area with its Indian partners.

On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on the same day that Russia was not the only supplier of oil and petroleum products to India. The spokesman clarified that India has always bought petroleum products from other countries, so the Kremlin does not see any innovation in this situation.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, in turn, said that Russian oil is in demand in the Indian energy market. According to him, Moscow sees only public statements by the American side, and the Russian Federation will monitor the real development of the situation with the import of Russian oil to India.
