Gazprom Neft has integrated environmental projects and initiatives into a single long-term program. The goals are grouped into four key areas — "Land", "Air", "Water" and "Living Environment" — and are calculated over the 2030-2035 horizon. This was announced by the company's press service.

"As one of the largest Russian companies, we are aware of our high responsibility for preserving the environment and strive to ensure that our environmental approaches become industry standards," said Alexander Dyukov, Chairman of the Gazprom Neft Management Board.

According to him, the long-term environmental program is based on three key principles: reducing environmental impact, advancing regulatory standards, proactive environmental risk management, as well as the development and implementation of new technologies and solutions. "We pay special attention to studying and preserving the unique ecosystem of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation," Dyukov emphasized.

Thus, in the "Earth" direction, the company intends to achieve 100% utilization and neutralization of industrial waste by 2030 and eliminate their placement in landfills. By the same date, Gazprom Neft plans to increase the volume of recyclable materials to 15 thousand tons per year as part of the creation of an integrated packaging collection and recycling system. Gazprom Neft pays special attention to the topic of studying the properties of permafrost and the introduction of best practices for the conservation of permafrost soils: the Earth direction also aims to ensure the absolute reliability of the company's infrastructure on permafrost soils. For this purpose, Gazprom Neft has established a single competence center for the arrangement and operation of facilities in the cryolithozone.

Long-term goals in the areas of "Water" and "Air" involve reducing the burden on water resources and the atmosphere. In particular, the company intends to reduce specific emissions by 40% by 2035 compared to 2022. Gazprom Neft has also established a single principle of zero discharge of polluted waters for all facilities. In addition, the implementation of projects aimed at the development of automated air quality monitoring systems at processing facilities will continue. Earlier, Gazprom Neft's experience in implementing such a system at the Omsk Oil Refinery helped to form an industry standard recognized by Rosprirodnadzor.

The "Living Environment" direction involves fulfilling obligations to preserve and restore natural ecosystems. Biodiversity will be monitored at the new assets even before the start of large-scale field development. The company plans to allocate more than 500 million rubles to solve problems in this area by 2035.
