President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to pay an official visit to his country in the first half of this year. This was announced on February 4 by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
"During the conversation, President Xi Jinping invited Vladimir Putin to pay an official visit to China in the first half of the year. The invitation was gratefully accepted, the dates and details will be agreed upon additionally," he said.
Ushakov recalled that on July 16, Moscow and Beijing will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the bilateral treaty on good neighborliness, friendship and cooperation. This "relevant, relevant to the spirit of the times" resolution, he added, will be automatically extended for another five years.
An aide to the Russian leader also said that the Chinese president invited Putin to attend the summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, which will be held in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen in November.
