Balashikha poisoner Missyura wanted to sell his car and grandmother's jewelry
Artyom Missyura, a serial poisoner from Balashikha, accused of the attempted murder of relatives and friends, said he had not planned to poison anyone except his stepfather, but then saw the elimination of relatives as a solution to financial difficulties. This was reported on February 4 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
"I wanted to find a job where I had to do little and earn a lot. <...> Then I wanted it to be a solution to my problems: in order to pay off my debts, I wanted to steal my grandmother's jewelry, sell my car and not work," he explained.
Missyura also admitted that he dreams of writing an autobiography. According to him, he managed to read 119 books during the entire period of his imprisonment.
Talking about how he prepared treats with poisonous chemicals for his family, the defendant stated that he tasted the dishes himself, tasting them on the tip of a teaspoon and washing them down with water. He later "rejected" some recipes because of their unpleasant taste or pungent odor.
According to witness statements, Missyura repeatedly poisoned his family and friends with toxic substances. He brought poisoned gifts to relatives, gave a friend a poisonous Easter roll, mixed poison into the bride's drinks, replaced spices with poison and filled his stepfather's coffee machine with a deadly "potion".
Missyura said on January 14 that he had poisoned his grandmother to steal her gold. Testifying in court, Missyura revealed a plan according to which he intended to appropriate the jewelry of an elderly relative. He wanted his grandmother to go to the hospital, so that he could sell her jewelry and cover his debts.
Missyura was detained on July 19, 2024. According to the investigation, from January to June, the suspect, while in his parents' apartment, poured strong chemicals into their products with the aim of fatal poisoning. Later, a surveillance camera was installed in the apartment, which recorded how Missyura poured toxic substances into his parents' food. On August 25 of this year, Missyura fully admitted his guilt.
