A Tyumen man was taken into custody near Krasnoyarsk on charges of fraud

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, one of the residents of the Tyumen region was detained, who is accused of fraud in a child abduction case. This was announced on February 4 by the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (GSU TFR) for the region.

"Today, at the request of the investigation, the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 1 month and 21 days," the department's Telegram channel said.

According to the investigation, on January 21, 2026, a 22-year-old resident of the Tyumen region, conspiring with fraudsters, went to Krasnoyarsk as a courier to transfer money received by another defendant from a minor to accomplices. The next day, in the evening, the defendant took the backpack from the girl, after which he left it on the street in the place indicated by the scammers. Subsequently, he left for Novosibirsk.

A criminal case was opened into the incident under Part 4 of Article 159 ("Fraud committed by an organized group") and paragraphs "a", "d", and "z" of Part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Kidnapping committed by a group of persons by prior agreement, against a known minor and for mercenary purposes").

Earlier, on January 30, the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that the defendant in the case of the fictitious abduction of a 14-year-old teenager in Krasnoyarsk was charged with fraud.
