Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate do not seize license plates of the AMR series from drivers if they were issued legally. This was reported on February 3 in the department.

"No one seizes such numbers either on the roads or in registration units if they are issued legally," Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports, citing a source in the State Traffic Inspectorate.

Earlier, there were reports of the alleged seizure of AMR license plates following the ECX series signs, which are designed for cars of law enforcement agencies. It was claimed that 15 AMR rooms were allegedly confiscated in the Moscow region.

"But this does not apply to signs with the AMR series. By the way, there is not a single sign with the AMR series and the 97 region code in private hands," the publication notes.

Anton Shaparin, vice President of the National Automobile Union (NAS), told Izvestia on January 26 that Russia had proposed introducing a new type of state registration plates for cars — green for electric cars and turquoise for unmanned vehicles.

It is assumed that the use of green license plates for electric vehicles will simplify the control of their owners' use of parking and toll roads. As for self-driving cars, the introduction of turquoise license plates will make them more visible to other road users.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
