- Ukrainian football player Mudryk mentioned the Volyn massacre in a conflict with a Pole in CS2
Ukrainian football player Mikhail Mudrik received a 28-day ban in Counter-Strike 2 after mentioning the Volyn massacre in a chat during the game. This was reported on February 3 by Ukrainian Telegram channels.
"You will remember Volhynia for the rest of your life," Mudrik wrote in a chat, addressing his opponent.
He also called the Polish player a bum. He filed a complaint with the administration, after which the Ukrainian football player was blocked for 28 days.
The BBC Broadcasting Corporation reported in September last year that the banned drug meldonium could have entered Mudrik's body when he was in the Ukrainian national team. According to the publication, meldonium has been banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) since 2016.
In June of the same year, Mudrik's doping test gave a positive result. According to the Football Association of England (FA), the athlete was charged with using the banned substance meldonium.
In December 2024, Mudrik failed a doping test. It was clarified that after the 23-year-old passed the A-sample for the presence of a prohibited substance, which turned out to be positive, he was threatened with disqualification for four years if the second doping test failed.
