Officials detained in Sergiev Posad stole money to fight hogweed

The detained officials in Sergiev Posad near Moscow organized a scheme of embezzlement of budget funds allocated to combat hogweed in the city district. This was reported on February 3 in the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region.

"From 2023 to 2025, administration officials jointly stole funds allocated under the municipal contract to combat borshchevik Sosnovsky," the department's Telegram channel says.
