Matvienko called Russia one of the leaders in the fight against cancer
Russia is one of the world leaders in the fight against oncological diseases and is constantly improving the system of medical care in this field. This was stated on February 3 in the address of the Chairman of the Federation Council (SF) Valentina Matvienko to the participants of the civil dialogue on the topic "Formation of cancer awareness and countering the cancer threat in the Russian Federation."
Senator Alexey Sinitsyn read out the text of the appeal to the audience at the event.
"The Russian Federation is deservedly one of the recognized world leaders in organizing the fight against cancer. It has been scientifically proven that timely diagnosis and early detection of malignant neoplasms are the key to successful treatment and effective rehabilitation of treated patients," noted the Chairman of the Federation Council.
Matvienko added that the development of medical products in the field of oncology allows not only to save people's lives, but also to preserve its quality.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also sent greetings. He noted that in Russia, the fight against cancer is given priority attention.
"Dear friends, large-scale government programs are being implemented. New cancer centers are being built and retrofitted in the regions. Advanced technologies are being widely introduced to ensure modern diagnosis of treatment and, of course, one of the most important areas," the head of state said.
He added that active prevention of the promotion of healthy lifestyle values in society creates a responsible attitude towards their health among both the older generation and the youth.
Marina Sekacheva, Director of the Institute of Personalized Oncology at the First Moscow State Medical University, MD, Professor, said on January 1 that 2025 was one of the most significant periods for global and Russian oncology. One of the main breakthroughs has been the success of cell therapy, she added.
