- The State Duma threatened with consequences due to the appearance of foreign troops in Ukraine
Russia will not allow the presence of foreign troops on the territory of Ukraine. Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma's defense committee, said this on Tuesday, February 3.
"I have no doubt that they (the United States) believe that they can somehow push this through, but this is beyond Russia's red lines," he said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
Kolesnik noted that Russia would not allow the presence of foreign troops on the territory of Ukraine after the victory, after the peace agreement, because this would minimize the country's victory.
"We've been through this before. Do you remember the division of Germany? In the end, it led to the fact that some short-sighted politicians in the Soviet Union surrendered the GDR and Germany united," said the deputy.
He stressed that there should be no foreign troops on the territory of Ukraine, as this could lead to a continuation of the conflict, a severe escalation and a third world war.
"Our victory is our victory, and the winners dictate the conditions, and the losers accept these conditions and fulfill them. There are no other options," he concluded.
Earlier, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson indicated that Russia would not allow the appearance of NATO troops in Ukraine after the peace agreement, according to the website. kp.ru .
On February 2, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the deployment of Western military installations on the territory of Ukraine is unacceptable for Russia, reports NSN.
The Russian Foreign Minister also rejected the model of solving the crisis proposed by Kiev, which involves the deployment of "multinational forces" to ensure Ukraine's security, RT reports. He called it "the creation of a strong point for further struggle against Russia."
The Times newspaper reported on January 8 that France and the United Kingdom are ready to send up to 15,000 troops to Ukraine as a peacekeeping contingent after a possible peace agreement. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on January 8 that the West's plan to militarize Ukraine was aimed at escalating the conflict.
French President Emmanuel Macron on January 6, the day when the "coalition of the willing" signed the declaration on the deployment of the military in Ukraine, clarified that the document sets out in detail all the components of security guarantees, and the participants agreed to create a single coordination center.
