Soviet TV presenter and announcer Svetlana Zhiltsova died at the age of 90.
Svetlana Zhiltsova, a Soviet TV presenter and broadcaster, has died. This was announced on February 3 by Channel One.
"Svetlana Zhiltsova, the legendary Soviet announcer, has died. <...> Svetlana Alekseevna has hosted the highest—rated programs for many years. <...> And has forever remained one of the brightest stars of our television," the channel's website says.
Zhiltsova is remembered by many as the host of the program "Good night, kids." In addition to her, she appeared in the programs "Funny Notes", "Alarm Clock", the TV magazine "Pioneer", as well as in various quizzes. Since 1961, she has been hosting KVN.
