"My hero got into the Indian kingdom and now he's driving as fast as he can"
Gosha Kutsenko considers working in fairy tales to be the most difficult. He speaks about this with knowledge — the actor played a Wolf in the movie "The Last Hero. Kolobok", which will be released on wide screens this summer and, according to him, will be an event. In the meantime, he has a whole series of other premieres. On February 5, the triumphant Sochi festival "New Season" will be released — the series "Get on your Feet", for which the actor received his first award for the main male role. And on March 8, he will appear in the image of an exemplary family man in "Tulips", the spring equivalent of the Christmas Tree franchise. Gosha Kutsenko spoke in an exclusive interview with Izvestia about how to survive in the Babi kingdom, the role of his daughter Polina in the sequel to "Red Silk" — "Black Silk", as well as about what he and the president turned out to be like—minded about.
"My colleagues couldn't resurrect my character even with the help of computer graphics"
— In the novel "Flowers for Loved Ones" you play the father of a large family who prepares a surprise for his girls, but everything does not go according to plan, and the holiday may be disrupted. Have you ever urgently searched for gifts for your loved ones?
— That's what always happens: you have to buy gifts urgently. I have a family: a wife, three daughters. I usually go to get flowers at night on the eve of March 8 to congratulate in the morning.
In "Tulips," my character is just such a good family man. This image was developed by us at Bazelevs during the filming of "Christmas Trees", where we played together with Masha Shukshina and Sasha Robak. This time, my hero has entered the Indian kingdom and is now taxiing as best he can. I feel so sorry for him. He is happy, but it is not easy for him in this kingdom! (He smiles.)
— Preparations are underway for the filming of the film "Black Silk", the sequel to "Red Silk", in which you starred. Are you taking part in it?
— I'm not involved in this project yet. In "Red Silk," my character died. I am pleased with the success of the film at the box office, it was shown in China as well. After the film "The Balkan Frontier", this was my second production job with Vadim Byrkin. But it so happened that I quit the game. My colleagues were unable to resurrect my character even with the help of computer graphics. But my daughter Polina will star in the sequel. Let's see if I'll appear in some cameo role in an unrecognizable guise. To preserve the traditions.
— What are you working on now?
— Now I'm producing a picture of our company "Scene". Director Alexandra Ozeretskaya is shooting the film "18–". This is a story about little adults, about "little kids" as we call them. The case takes place in a provincial town. As a result of a mysterious anomaly, people stopped growing. Their development stopped at the age of 13. But at the same time they grow mentally. Their mind and soul continued to mature. Eternal children. The main characters are such little Adam and Eve. They have their own "island" of little people, which they call Paradise. And, according to the plot, they decide whether to stay in this Paradise or, with the help of some kind of medical executions, begin to transform into adult people. A touching movie.
— Is this a movie about special people or fiction?
— You know, it's amazing, this script was written as fiction. And now there is an interview with a boy who also stopped in his physiological development. We became interested, found him, and have now contacted him. Indeed, it turns out that nature has given us such an exclusive.
"This is the first prize for the leading male role in my life"
— You have been involved in charity work for many years. You care about the fate of people in need of support. And the critics were shocked by your role in the TV series "Stand up", which won the online cinema festival "New Season". It is impossible to watch it without tears. The series was called the most anticipated. Why do you think we don't have so many projects trying to bring something good?
— I myself starred in this series with great pleasure. My hero is a criminal named Stary. He spent 20 years in prison. And when he gets out, he finds out that he has a daughter, Olya, who uses a wheelchair. The father tries to establish a relationship with Olya, begins to help her, but the daughter does not accept him and tries to get rid of a suddenly appeared relative. But the whole story is told in a positive way with excellent dialogues by Alexander Noskov, the author of "Magic Plots".
The series raises many issues related to the health of children with disabilities. This is a special territory. I have a foundation, and I have been working with children with cerebral palsy for over 20 years. That's why it's hard to surprise me with anything. And the audience will be faced with something that will make them look at this problem in a different way. Plus, it's an artistic painting. In it, the life of my on-screen daughter will be presented through ornate moves, unexpected twists in the development of the plot. Therefore, there will be much more connection to the story than to the documentary illustration. I can't wait for it to come out. By the way, I won the Hero of the New Season award at the New Season. And this is the first prize for the leading male role in my life. Hurray!
— Do you think there will be any response from the audience?
— I'm afraid to make predictions about TV series. I don't know how they can accept it. A movie is a movie, it came out, we watched it. The series — the first two episodes were watched at the festival. Although this story is developing very rapidly. The plot literally flies up.
"Filming was exhausting for me, but I persevered"
— The filming of the fairy tale "Kolobok", in which you have one of the main roles, has recently been completed. Have you ever imagined that your career would take such a turn? All artists dream of playing in Hamlet, and suddenly — Kolobok.
— The most difficult job is in fairy tales. All for the sake of the children. It was one of the most difficult projects. Although I'm a youngish artist, I'm not young anymore. In Kolobok, I played the main robber, the Wolf. And I was given the most difficult challenges. Filming took place in 36-degree heat in the forest. I was wearing a suit of leather and fur, armor, a woolen cloak, and a helmet.
"Why does the Wolf need armor?"
— We had serious fights in the frame. We've been rehearsing them for months. The movie was shot by the brilliant director Anton Maslov. I dreamed of working with him in a real movie. And a "Bun" is like that. This is another part of the "The Last Hero" franchise. The movie is detailed, very gimmicky, based on humor. Dear, prepared project. Filming was exhausting for me, but I persevered. Fans and air conditioners saved me. For children, everything is always the most difficult, you can't fool them.
— It's very prestigious to star in a franchise like this. Have you ever dreamed of being in a fairy tale?
— I didn't really dream, but I wanted to go into a fairy tale. I followed the work of Anton Maslov. And when he invited me, I was happy to audition. I'm just glad, because I know the "Last Hero" franchise well. I have something to compare it with. My children and I reviewed all the fairy tales that came out. Including New Year's bestsellers! But our "Gingerbread Man" will probably be the coolest. Its release will be an event. A powerful, beautiful movie. Anton killed all the birds with one stone in the area. There's such humor, scale, and entertainment! And, by the way, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin said that "Kolobok" is his favorite fairy tale work.
— What are you talking about?
— Yes, yes! When asked what are your three favorite works of art, the president replied: the novel "War and Peace" by Leo Tolstoy, Tchaikovsky's first Piano concerto and the fairy tale "Kolobok". He said that when we started filming. I brought this video to the playground. So that's what kind of like-minded person we have!
