The Paris prosecutor's office invited American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk to testify after searches of the offices of his social network X (ex. Twitter). This was announced on February 3 by French Prosecutor General Laure Beco.

"The subpoenas for holding free hearings on April 20, 2026 in Paris were sent to Mr. Elon Musk and Mrs. Linda Iacarino," the BFMTV channel reports her words.

According to her, Musk and Yakarino are actually and legally the heads of Platform X at the time of the fact-finding. She added that the rest of the company's employees are also being called to "free hearings" as witnesses from April 20 to 24.

If it turns out that the company is violating the rules, the EU can impose a fine of 6% of the global annual turnover.
