Parts for Aurus and electric buses have been replaced in Murom.

The Murommashzavod enterprise in the Vladimir region has launched the production of steering rails with an electric booster for Aurus cars and electric gantry bridges for KamAZ electric buses. The total investment in the creation of a new production facility exceeded 2.2 billion rubles, of which 1.75 billion was provided by the Federal Fund for Industrial Development, the Izvestia correspondent reported on February 3.

In the new production building, the first production of electric power steering rails for models based on the Aurus platform has been established in the Russian Federation. They were imported from Germany until 2022. Muromashzavod plans to produce up to 350 such rails per year. It is stated that the rail developed by the company's designers has no analogues of Russian production.

The site also organized the production of electric gantry bridges for Russian electric buses KamAZ, Volgabas, LiAZ, and Sinara — urban machines. Previously, the main suppliers were manufacturers from Germany and China. The output volume is more than 200 bridges per year with the possibility of increasing up to 3 thousand annually.

The company noted that the components are made mainly from domestic raw materials. The level of localization of the production of steering rails is 84%, and bridges — 87%.

The company is currently adapting the developed steering rails for use in low-tonnage Gazelle NN and Gazelle Next trucks. In general, the company is capable of producing up to 40 thousand steering mechanisms per year, said Alexandra Sumina, General Director of JSC "PO Muromashzavod". The manufacturer is ready to cover the entire need of KAMAZ, Volgabas and other Russian manufacturers of electric buses for electric portal bridges, as well as adapt them for hybrid and electric cargo vehicles for subsequent production, she noted.

According to the general director of the company, serial production of electric portal posts for electric buses will begin this year. The nodes are currently undergoing final tests. It is assumed that over the next few years, domestic electric portal bridges will replace imported components on Moscow electric buses.
