AvtoVAZ announced the start of sales of the most economical Lada Vesta

Sales of the Lada Vesta CNG dual-fuel sedan have started in Russia. Such a car can run on both gasoline and methane, and travel over 1,000 km without stopping to refuel. The price of the new product starts from 1.88 million rubles (1.52 million rubles with state subsidy). This is stated in the message of AVTOVAZ, which was received by Izvestia on February 3.

Lada Vesta CNG's methane-powered gas cylinder equipment provides distributed methane injection with an additional gasoline supply mode to enhance vehicle dynamics. Full refueling with methane provides a mileage of about 320 km. Together with the main gas tank, the power reserve on two types of fuel exceeds 1000 km without refueling. According to the company, operation on methane can reduce fuel costs by two to three times, and the amount of transport tax is reduced by 50%.

A 90-liter steel and fiberglass gas cylinder is located in the trunk of the sedan, it is designed to pump 22 cubic meters of compressed methane. The standard full-size 55-liter gas tank has been preserved. The useful volume of the trunk has decreased to 250 liters.. The filling nozzle is located next to the neck of the gas tank, the interface of the on-board computer of the car is supplemented with information about the operation of the HBO, including the power reserve and the remaining gas.

For safety reasons, the car is equipped with an automatic system that cuts off the gas supply in case of leakage of the fuel line, for example, in the event of an accident. The model has passed a number of tests, including crash tests. The car is covered by the factory warranty, registration of changes in the design of the car is not required.

Last summer, AvtoVAZ introduced the CNG version of the Lada Largus station wagon. Natural gas (methane) is pumped into three steel cylinders with a total volume of about 90 liters. Running on natural gas can reduce fuel costs by 2.5 times. When fully refueled, the Largus CNG also has a range of more than 1,000 km, AvtoVAZ reported.
