Russia named the most stolen cars in 2025
Most often in 2025, cars of the Geely, Kia and Lixiang brands, as well as Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover, were stolen. This was announced on February 3 at the VSK insurance house.
"Overall, by the end of the year, the number of hijackings decreased slightly — by 4%. At the same time, the preferences of criminals have noticeably changed," the insurance house told RIA Novosti.
Auto theft of Geely Emgrand cars accounted for 15%, Kia (mainly Stinger) — 11%.
Of the premium cars, 4% of the total theft was made up of Lixiang and Lexus brands, 3.5% each — Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover.
The domestic Lada Granta also fell into the category of stolen cars. Hyundai (Creta and Santa FE) and Toyota (all Land Cruiser models) turned out to be popular with car thieves.
Moscow (31%), St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg (19% each) became the leading regions in car theft.
