According to the investigation, Peter Zh., who was previously suspected of abducting a child, confessed on February 2 that he had drowned the boy in a local reservoir. According to preliminary information, the crime was caused by blackmail — the materials allegedly used by the boy to threaten him were found on the man's computer. It is noted that the suspect and the child were familiar, and the boy helped the man more than once, including washing his car.
Earlier, on February 1, it was reported that the search for a nine-year-old boy in St. Petersburg continued for the third day. The police and volunteers were involved, the investigation checked all versions and studied the recordings from surveillance cameras.
