The deputies want to protect employees of pre-retirement and retirement age by imposing sanctions on the employer if he subjected them to unlawful dismissal. On February 3, the LDPR sent such a bill to the government for consideration, party leader Leonid Slutsky told Izvestia.

"The Liberal Democratic Party is convinced that the tangible economic sanctions that will threaten the company for the illegal dismissal or transfer to another job of an employee of pre-retirement and retirement age will make you think several times before making such a decision. Older professionals will be able to feel more confident without fear of suddenly being out of work. Their experience and skills can and should be passed on to young cadres, rather than replacing an experienced fighter with someone less competent for short-term benefits," the parliamentarian said.

The draft law proposes to establish that if the dismissal of a pre-retirement or retired person is recognized as illegal, the employer undertakes to pay compensation to such an employee in the amount of five times the average monthly earnings.

Earlier, on January 19, Kaplan Panes, Deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes, said that this year the insurance pensions of working pensioners would be indexed, while the fact of work itself would not be a reason for refusing to increase payments. It is specified that after the dismissal of a working pensioner, the Social Fund of Russia recalculates the pension, taking into account all indexations of previous years that were not previously included in payments.
