Lavrov: Russia handed over 12,000 bodies of dead militants to Ukraine

Since June 2025, Russia has received more than 200 bodies of dead servicemen from Ukraine. This was announced on February 2 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

According to him, in exchange for the remains of the Russians, the Ukrainian side received more than 12 thousand remains.

Lavrov also noted that with the mediation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), 17 rounds of the exchange of prisoners of war and detainees were organized in 2024-2025.

As a result of these exchanges, more than 4,000 people were released. Of these, more than half returned home between May and October 2025.
