The State Duma proposed to oblige insurers to collect payments from the perpetrators of accidents

State Duma deputies have prepared an inter-factional bill, which proposes to oblige insurance companies to make recourse claims against the perpetrators of accidents in the presence of aggravating circumstances. This is evidenced by the relevant document, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti on February 2.

"The draft federal law On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation has been developed in order to create conditions for a more effective and fair formation of tariff policy for compulsory civil liability insurance of vehicle owners," the explanatory note to the initiative says.

One of the authors of the bill was Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs. The document provides for the obligation of the Bank of Russia to publish on the official website statistics on the level of recourse claims for CTP in the whole country.
