On February 1, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, assessed the dynamics of bilateral contacts between Russia and the United States during the presidency of Donald Trump.

According to Medvedev, cooperation between the two countries has become noticeably more productive.

"Contacts with Americans have become much more productive. And it seems to me that this is good for the cause," he stressed in an interview with TASS.

The politician also drew attention to the motivation of the American leader. Medvedev believes that Trump is striving to go down in history as a peacemaker and is making real efforts to achieve this goal.

The head of the White House a day earlier once again announced that the parties were approaching an agreement on Ukraine. On the same day, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, called on Kiev and its European allies to support the peace plan proposed by Washington.
