Russian boxer Bahram Murtazaliev lost to British Josh Kelly without defending the championship belt of the International Boxing Federation (IBF). The meeting took place on January 31 in Newcastle.

The victory was awarded to the Briton after a separate judicial decision following the results of a 12‑round fight. Two judges recorded Kelly's victory, and one counted a draw.

Murtazaliev won the championship belt in April 2024, knocking out German Jack Kulkai. He later defended the title. At the moment, the Russian has 23 wins, 17 of them by knockout, and one defeat.

The Russian national team will compete under its own flag and will fight for record prizes.
