Director and screenwriter Alexander Sokurov and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Soyuzmultfilm studio and CEO of the Gorky Film Studio, Julian Slashchev, were expelled from the Council for the Development of Russian Cinematography by order of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The relevant decree was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on January 30.

"To exclude from the Council <...> Natalia Vitalievna Mokritskaya, Julianna Yurievna Slashcheva, Alexander Nikolaevich Sokurov," the decree says.
