The unified rating of driving schools can be earned at the end of spring
The unified rating of Russian driving schools in Russia should be launched in May 2026. This was stated by Valery Goryukhanov, a member of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Transport Infrastructure Development, TASS reported on January 30.
According to Goryukhanov, the new rating will make the quality of driver training transparent and show how graduates of this school pass exams and how often they get into accidents. He believes that the introduction of the rating will encourage driving schools to compete for the quality of training.
Goryukhanov stressed that graduates who have completed a course at a low-rated driving school will be able to take driver's license exams on a general basis, and there are no plans to restrict citizens' rights.
When forming the rating of driving schools, the results of exams and emergency situations faced by graduates in the first two years after obtaining their license will be taken into account. A specific list of indicators, criteria and frequency of evaluation of the effectiveness of driving schools should be developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, and approved by the Government of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, on January 21, it was reported that the new rules for training in driving schools will enter into force on March 1, 2026, among them a distance learning format for theory and an increase in the duration of driving instruction. Changes in the course of first aid in case of an accident will be carried out, rules for interaction with road users on electric scooters will be introduced.
