Reuters has learned about the delay in U.S. energy supplies to Ukraine
The United States promised to provide Ukraine with financial assistance to restore energy, but Kiev has not received this money. This was reported on January 30 by the Reuters news agency, citing sources.
According to sources, the financial aid was intended to help Ukraine import liquefied natural gas and rebuild its energy infrastructure. However, after USAID was closed after US President Donald Trump came to power, some of the funds were "in limbo."
At the same time, some officials of the new administration insisted that the State Department distribute the funds itself, while others wanted the Development Finance Corporation to handle the financing, the newspaper points out.
The sources clarify that the delay in providing financial assistance to Kiev is due to "bureaucratic confusion and internal conflicts, and not an attempt to put pressure on Ukraine."
The Polish newspaper Myśl Polska noted on January 28 that the situation around energy in Ukraine continues to deteriorate. It was noted that at the moment the Ukrainian energy system is at the limit of its capabilities.
