The administrator of the burned-down illegal hostel in Balashikha, Moscow region, where four people died in a fire, was placed under house arrest until March 26. This was reported on January 30 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

The woman was engaged in the accommodation of the guests. According to the investigation, she knew that the residents of the hostel were illegally staying in the territory of the Russian Federation.

The owners of the facility, according to her, were also aware of the situation.

The woman was detained the day before. A criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements and caused death of people") and under paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code ("Organization of illegal migration"). The suspect confessed.

A fire in a private house in Balashikha occurred on January 27. Four people were killed in the incident, and a 15-year-old teenager was hospitalized with carbon monoxide poisoning. The fire occurred early in the morning, at about 04:40 Moscow time. The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence").

Later, a source from Izvestia reported that Cuban citizens had died in the fire at the hostel. It was established that the cause of the fire was the ignition of coals in the house for heating. Items that may be relevant to the investigation were seized from the scene.
