In Yakutia, the construction of the Lena Bridge is carried out around the clock. The project receives systematic support from the federal authorities. So, in January 2026, 1.3 billion rubles were allocated from the federal treasury for its implementation.

According to IA YakutiaMedia, with reference to the regional government, the project is of strategic importance for the transport connectivity of the Arctic zone with the Far East. The construction is carried out in difficult natural and climatic conditions, requires the use of unique technical solutions, some of which have no analogues in the world.

At the moment, the assembly of the 10th cofferdam is nearing completion. This is a right-bank fencing structure, which is necessary for the construction of cable-stayed bridge pylons. In parallel, it is being prepared for descent into the river area. This is planned to be done in this year's navigation.

The assembly of the largest ninth cofferdam of the central pylon is also underway. Specialists assemble the splits and walls of the structure. The central cofferdam will be the largest element of the project. Its diameter is about 48 m and its height is 17.5 m.

According to Mikhail Samarchev, Chief engineer of VIS Stroy LLC, construction continues in winter due to the fact that metal structures are equipped with specialized technological shelters. The appropriate temperature is maintained in them so that the welding technology is not disrupted.

The specialist noted that the Lena Bridge is one of the most complex projects not only in Russian, but also in global bridge construction. It has no analogues in the world, and the technology of floating cofferdams is one of the most advanced that are used in Russia.

In total, about 18 billion rubles have already been invested in the project. Of these, 4.3 billion rubles are the investor's funds. Over the next three years, more than 40 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal budget. The republican government should provide co-financing from the regional budget.

The Lena River bridge will run from the village of Staraya Tabaga to the village of Khaptagai in Megino-Kangalassky district. Thanks to him, a transport and logistics hub will be created in Yakutsk, where federal routes will converge: river, aviation and railway, as well as federal highways Vilyu, Kolyma and Lena. In the future, the ferry will help create an international transport corridor between Russia and the Asia–Pacific region.
