- The search engines called the accident the probable cause of the disappearance of the Usoltsev family.
An accident is considered the most likely cause of the disappearance of the Usoltsev family in the taiga of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. This was announced on January 30 by the head and coordinator of the PrimPoisk search organization, Kristina Wulfert.
"The conditions there are very difficult. In Primorye, there are approximately the same territories where people disappear in the mountains. And mountains are very difficult. <...> Therefore, we are inclined to believe that an accident may have happened to people," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Wulfert added that weather conditions can change very quickly in mountainous areas. Forecasts for both settlements and mountains are not modeled.
On the same day, the press service of the professional emergency rescue unit of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (KGKU "Rescuer") announced that rescuers would conduct repeated searches for the Usoltsevs in the village of Kuturchin from January 30. Earlier, on January 19, Serafima Choodu, a representative of the press service of the LizaAlert regional detachment, said that volunteers would return to the large-scale search for the Usoltsevs in the taiga of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the spring.
Alexey Kulesh, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, an experienced tourist and a direct participant in the search for the missing Usoltsev family, restored their route on January 16. According to him, the route to Pinocchio is much more difficult: with altitude differences, access to an open rocky plateau, where it is possible to get lost or get injured. In his opinion, the combination of difficult terrain, the risk of leaving the trail and the danger of falling makes this version the main one.
On October 22, 2025, investigators called the accident the main version of the disappearance of the Usoltsev family. Yulia Arbuzova, a spokeswoman for the Office of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Khakassia, said on October 30 that no records or suspicious items of the Usoltsev family had been found.
The loss of the Usoltsev family in the Minsk Loop area became known on September 28, 2025, when they were heading to Mount Pinocchio. Over 515 km of forest roads and 40 square kilometers of woodlands were explored in the search. The active phase of the search was completed on October 12, but the work continued in the format of point tasks, which were entrusted to certified rescuers.
