Lake Nozhy was monitored in the Aginsky Steppe
Another monitoring of Lake Nozhy was carried out in the Aginskaya Steppe State Nature Reserve. The reservoir is frozen harder than usual, according to the Telegram channel "Zapovednoe Zabaikalie".
According to the inspectors, the depth of the lake on January 29 is 140 cm. Despite the heavy rainfall, this is 20 cm less than in the same period a year earlier. The ice thickness has reached 105 cm. For comparison, in 2025 it is 90 cm.
Nozhy Lake is a typical steppe reservoir with an unstable water regime. Depending on the phase of the hydrological cycle, it can almost completely dry up or become full-flowing.
According to the ChitaMedia news agency, the lake is now in a period of filling with water after a prolonged drought.
