The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were taxed for delivering food to the front line. This was reported to Izvestia on January 29 by the Ukrainian prisoner Alexander Salyukov.

He said that the Ukrainian militants have no motivation, and they are driven to the front through fear, in particular, by blocking bank accounts and driver's licenses.

According to him, he and other soldiers were promised a salary of 20 thousand hryvnias (about 35.5 thousand rubles) plus 170 thousand (about 301.8 thousand rubles) "combat" monthly, but he never saw any money before his captivity. Salyukov also noted that the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine charged these amounts for food.

"We had a Baba Yaga drone at the delivery point every two days. We were told that we would give at least 5%. <...> Just for the food," said the prisoner.

In addition, according to him, the command misinforms the fighters, convincing them of the smallness of the Russian army and the absence of danger, but in fact, as the prisoner stated, there are a huge number of Russian drones on the front line.

"Then there was an impression. And where are our people anyway?" said Salyukov.

Earlier in the day, a former soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who surrendered told about the punishment from the Ukrainian command for refusing to kill an elderly civilian. According to him, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ordered to shoot at any civilian they met. He refused to follow such orders.
