- Violations of SanPiN standards have been revealed in the boarding school in Prokopyevsk
During the inspection of the boarding school in Prokopyevsk, the facts of non-compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards were revealed, and the head of the institution was presented with a proposal to eliminate violations. This was reported on January 29 on the official website of the regional prosecutor's office.
"Currently, individual facts of non-compliance with sanitary and epidemiological norms and requirements have been identified, and therefore a submission has been made to the head of the boarding school, and the issue of bringing guilty officials to disciplinary and administrative responsibility is being resolved," the report says.
It is noted that the final elimination of violations is under the control of the regional prosecutor's office.
On the same day, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Kemerovo region reported that in January of this year, nine patients of the Prokopiev boarding school for people with mental disorders died, in which influenza A had previously broken out. Most of the dead were elderly people with chronic diseases. Decompensation (malfunction) of heart failure, circulatory system diseases, thromboembolism and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are listed among the causes of death.
Roszdravnadzor in the Kemerovo Region announced on January 29 that it would check the quality of medical care provided to the guests of the Prokopyevsky neuropsychiatric boarding school, where nine people died in January this year. Ilya Seredyuk, the governor of the region, noted that a commission from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Kuzbass has been working on the site since January 24.
Later it became known that the investigative authorities were investigating the causes and circumstances of the death of six more people from among the boarding school residents in Prokopyevsk.
Later, social activist Alexei Mukhin told Izvestia that capable patients of the Prokopievsky Neuropsychiatric boarding school (PSNI) in the Kemerovo region were deliberately not released from the institution even after the termination of the social service contract. He received his first complaints about illegal detention in 2021: the guests, being able-bodied people with disabilities, claimed that they could not leave the institution and asked for help. According to the patients, they were "held captive" and regularly fed spoiled food.
