Employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia and military investigators of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation detained in St. Petersburg the head of the 178th military representation of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, Captain 2nd rank Vladimir Nikitin in the case of receiving a particularly large bribe. This was reported on January 29 in the press service of the regional directorate of the FSB of Russia.

According to the agency, law enforcement agencies have established Nikitin's involvement in receiving a particularly large bribe from a representative of a commercial organization for "unhindered signing of documents" for the acceptance of an electronic component database used under a state defense order.
