- Sobyanin spoke about the growing potential of Moscow in the field of industrial 3D printing
The capital is actively developing its potential in the field of industrial 3D printing, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in the MACH messenger. Today, more than 25 companies operating in Moscow specialize in the field of additive technologies: they produce printers, components and printing materials, develop special software and provide additive manufacturing services.
3D printing is of great importance for the development of modern industrial technologies: it allows to reduce the weight of finished products, reduce material consumption and shorten production time. In addition, additive technologies enable manufacturers to produce goods in small batches, according to individual characteristics, as well as produce complex shaped products and use secondary raw materials in production.
In 2025, about 100 students of engineering classes in the capital visited the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, at the site of the Additive Engineering company, where they were able to learn about how industrial 3D printers work and how additive technologies make it possible to restore parts that are no longer produced.
Moscow developments in the field of industrial 3D printing are in demand in different cities of Russia. So, at the end of last year, the printer of the capital manufacturer was successfully implemented at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Transport of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
