The publication notes that although Ukraine tried to attack Russian oil storage facilities, retaliatory strikes against its energy infrastructure proved to be much more devastating.

As a result, Ukraine not only lost its energy independence, but also faced industrial degradation, reduced ammunition production, and increased desertion at the front. It clarifies that an attempt to attack the "economic Achilles' heel" of a stronger opponent led to the defeat and undermining of their own foundations of statehood.
