Europe should be an integral part of the negotiation process on the settlement in Ukraine. This was announced on January 29 by French President Emmanuel Macron on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

"We have come to an agreement that the Europeans should be fully involved in the issues they are discussing," the French leader wrote, commenting on a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The French leader also said that they had reviewed the progress of the negotiations that began last week in Abu Dhabi. Macron also added that Paris remains determined to increase pressure on Russia.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced the continuation of negotiations on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi on February 1. The spokesman also stressed that no lists of documents are being considered during the negotiations, and this process should take place behind closed doors.
