On January 28, the conference "Back to the Future" was held at the Rossiya National Center as part of the XXXIV International Christmas Educational Readings. It was dedicated to understanding the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 309 "On National Development Goals of the Russian Federation" through an appeal to the historical and spiritual experience of Russia.

The event brought together more than 60 speakers and over 1,000 participants — representatives of the clergy, statesmen, deputies, athletes, public activists and experts.

The conference was opened by the plenary session "Shaping the future based on millennial spiritual and moral values." State Duma Deputy Chairman Anna Kuznetsova, Vologda Region Governor Georgy Filimonov, Archbishop Nikanor of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Kuril Islands, Deputy Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church-Society Relations and the Media Vakhtang Kipshidze, as well as Archpriest Dimitri Vasilenkov, the chief military priest in the area of the special military operation, spoke at the event.

"The President has set the task of saving people as a national goal. Today, it can only be set by a sovereign State that has the right to do so. Russia has defended this right," Kuznetsova said in her speech.

The mechanisms for implementing the ideas that were announced at the plenary session were discussed by the participants in six sections dedicated to the family, spiritual and moral guidelines in sports, the role of housing construction in supporting fertility, as well as the formation of a new youth policy based on traditional values. In addition, the sections touched upon the role of traditionalist entrepreneurs in the revival of Russia and the reverse perspective as a principle of modern culture.

The event was organized by the All-Russian social movement "Forty Sorokov" with the support of the Synodal Department for Church Relations with the Media and Society.

"The first Back to the Future conference is the beginning of a long journey. Now Russia is beginning to grope for the image of the future that would allow it to establish itself as a state-civilization — the center of one of the poles of a multipolar world. We believe that the main foundation of our identity and civilizationalism is our God-centricity. <...> Our demography and morality, sovereignty and international positioning are directly correlated with the revival of millennial traditional spiritual and moral values," said Andrey Kormukhin, founding coordinator of the Sorok Sorokov movement.

In December last year, Boris Rapoport, deputy head of the presidential Office for Monitoring and Analysis of Social Processes, said that in modern Russia, the concepts of "sovereign country", "traditional society", and "welfare state" have replaced the old ideological triad of "autocracy", "Orthodoxy", and "nationalities" of imperial times.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on December 20 that Russia would continue to support compatriots and foreigners committed to traditional values. He noted that for residents and citizens of other countries who share these views, the state will improve the relevant legislation.
