- Iran has declared its readiness for any developments in relations with the United States.
Iran is ready to engage in dialogue with the United States, but if necessary, the Islamic Republic will defend itself and give an appropriate response. This was announced on January 28 at the Permanent Mission of Iran to the United Nations (UN) amid threats from American President Donald Trump.
"Iran is ready for a dialogue based on mutual respect and interests, but if forced, it will defend itself and respond like never before!" they wrote on the official page of the permanent mission on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
The report also notes that during the United States' interventions in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, Americans lost more than 7,000 soldiers and $7 trillion.
On the same day, Trump wrote that the next US attack on Iran would be worse for Tehran than the strikes in the summer of 2025. According to him, a "huge armada" is moving towards Iran, surpassing in scale the fleet previously sent by the United States to the shores of Venezuela.
On January 24, Sky News TV channel, citing a senior Iranian official, reported that Iran would consider any attack as a full-scale war against it. At the same time, an Iranian representative told the channel that the US military buildup, in his opinion, may not be aimed at a real confrontation.
