The Hamburg Regional Court granted the claim of Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov against the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), and after a meeting on January 28, banned the publication from spreading slander about the businessman.

In particular, journalists were forbidden to write that Usmanov allegedly used his fortune "in the interests of the Russian authorities," and also informally represented the interests of the Russian Federation in Uzbekistan.
