Patrol officers from the Traffic Management Center have helped drivers of more than 150 stuck cars and trucks since January 27, when the traffic situation in Moscow worsened due to heavy snowfalls. The Metropolitan Department of Transport announced this in its Telegram channel on January 28.

Deptrans said that the data center continues to operate in an enhanced mode. 36 highway patrol crews are on duty around the clock. They pull out stuck trucks, help with accidents, and control difficult sections to maintain traffic on the roads.

KamAZ data center trucks help stuck trucks and free up traffic on particularly difficult climbs, where conventional vehicles are difficult to handle. On January 28, Deptrans recommended that Muscovites use public transport to travel.

As reported yesterday, the average receipt for taxi rides in Moscow increased by 25% during the morning rush hour compared to last week due to snowfall and high demand. Deptrans of Moscow urged taxis to avoid unjustified price increases.

Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, explained that heavy snowfall in the Moscow region is caused by a large difference between air masses.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
