Drafts, sudden temperature changes near double-glazed windows and worn seals lead to the fact that up to 30-40% of the heat can leave the apartment. Doodle explained that the adjustment of fittings and replacement of seals can be carried out even in the cold season, as such work helps to keep the heat in the rooms and maintain a comfortable microclimate.

Snowfalls, thaws, and sudden temperature changes create additional stress on the roof, and even small cracks in the waterproofing can lead to leaks, dampness, and mold. Moisture penetrating into the floors eventually damages the insulation and wooden structures, which increases the scale of future repairs. The specialist noted that timely cleaning of gutters from ice and snow, as well as the elimination of roof defects before severe frosts, help to prevent serious consequences. According to him, there have been cases in practice when a minor winter leak led to flooding of an entire floor.
"Remember: winter does not tolerate delay. Heating and window adjustment are two obvious points that all experts and residents who are faced with the cold season talk about. But no less harm can be caused by a seemingly unobvious problem with the roof and gutters, especially after snowfalls and temperature changes," the expert concluded.
