In Kamchatka, the Shiveluch volcano spewed ash 7 km above sea level. This was announced on January 28 by the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Group (KVERT) of the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

"KVERT satellite data showed that the explosion spewed ash up to 7 km above sea level," the Telegram channel said.

It is specified that the ash plume spread 110 km west of the volcano. There is still a danger of ash emission up to 12 km above sea level. Volcanic ash emissions are dangerous for local and international air travel. An "orange" aviation hazard code has been announced, indicating a ban on flights in the volcano area.

On November 26, KVERT reported that the Nameless volcano in Kamchatka had released ash to an altitude of 11.4 km above sea level. The ash plume stretches 70 km east-northeast of the volcano.
