With the beginning of February this year, payments provided to disabled people, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and participants in the special military operation (SVO) will increase. This was announced on Wednesday, January 28, by Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

"Starting in February, the monthly payment to the disabled of group I will amount to 6,157 rubles. For war invalids and WWII participants who became disabled, the payment will increase to 8,794 rubles. The increase will affect all categories of recipients, including children with disabilities," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Nilov also announced the amount of monthly sums sent to combat veterans and participants of the Great Patriotic War. They will amount to 4,839 rubles and 6,596 rubles, respectively.

The promotion process aimed at supporting these categories of Russians, as Nilov explained, will be carried out automatically, so citizens do not need to apply anywhere to launch it.

On January 26, State Duma deputy, Deputy Chairman of the Budget and Taxes Committee Kaplan Panes from the LDPR faction, speaking with Izvestia, announced the indexation of social benefits in the Russian Federation from February 1 to 6.8%. The increase will apply to over 40 categories, which will include, as he added, families with children, the unemployed and people receiving benefits.
