Russian pensioners need to regularly pay their 13th pension by the New Year. The corresponding proposal was announced on January 28 by the leader of the Fair Russia party and the head of the faction in the State Duma, Sergei Mironov.

"For more than a decade, Fair Russia has been demanding the introduction of the 13th pension. The 13th pension is a well—deserved and much-needed gift to pensioners who support the president and his special military operation. — Ed.). Such a payment will help to compensate for the lag in pensions from the level of real inflation," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The agency's interlocutor clarified that his political association had once again submitted such a proposal to the State Duma in early December last year. A retired citizen is expected to receive an additional pension, the amount of which will be equal to the amount of insurance payments provided for old age, if the initiative is maintained. The amount sent should also not be less than 1.5 times the pensioner's subsistence level, which as of 2025 amounted to about 23 thousand rubles.

The head of Fair Russia said that some pensioners sometimes do not have enough money to prepare festive dishes for the New Year's table, as well as gifts for their relatives.

Deputies of the Fair Russia Party, led by Mironov, as Izvestia found out on January 27, proposed introducing quarterly pension indexation. Then the party leader, talking to the publication, said that according to the idea, the indexation coefficient for each quarter, as he explained, would be determined by the Government of the Russian Federation based on inflation in the country.
