Russia has won a strategic victory in the conflict in Ukraine, changing the nature of the fighting. This opinion was reached on January 27 by the observers of the Chinese portal Sohu.

According to the authors, the offensive and defensive operations of the Russian troops have changed to slower and more protracted ones. In response to the changes in tactics, Russia stopped large-scale breakthroughs and switched to shelling in order to gradually undermine the mobilization capabilities, equipment and morale of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

At the same time, analysts note that if the Ukrainian front is still holding out, then the situation in the rear of Ukraine is critical. Russia, in turn, has strengthened its own weapons production, while Ukraine's Western allies are faced with a long manufacturing cycle and high cost of supplied equipment.

According to the authors of the article, Russia's victory in the current conflict is only a matter of time.
