After a series of explosions in Kharkiv, power and heating outages began in eastern Ukraine, which led to the suspension of metro trains. This was reported on January 26 by the Ukrainian edition of RBC-Ukraine, citing officials and local residents.

"Kharkiv Metro announced that due to technical reasons, train traffic on the Saltovskaya and Alekseevskaya lines was temporarily suspended," the publication says.

It is specified that local residents reported interruptions in water supply and heating.

On January 22, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine called on citizens to prepare a stock of long-term storage products, drinking and industrial water for three to five days, pack a suitcase of basic necessities with documents, a first-aid kit, warm clothes, heating equipment and cash, as well as check the technical condition of transport and take care of pets. The ministry stressed that the measures are necessary against the background of possible interruptions in heat and energy supply related to the deterioration of the situation in the country's energy sector.

Stanislav Ignatiev, an energy expert at the Ukrainian Institute of the Future, said on January 26 that about 600,000 people had left Kiev, which was in a critical situation amid severe frosts and constant heat and electricity outages.
