A pensioner died in a fire in an apartment building in Velikiye Luki.

In the city of Velikiye Luki in the Pskov region, an elderly man died as a result of a fire in an apartment building. This is reported by the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

The fire occurred last Saturday, January 26, on Rusakov Street. During extinguishing the fire, rescuers found a 70-year-old man dead. The house itself burned down all over the area.

Eight people and three pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. They managed to save two neighboring apartment buildings from the fire, the Pskov News feed writes.

According to preliminary data provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the cause of the fire was a violation of fire safety rules during the operation of the furnace.

On January 18, a fire broke out in an apartment building on Oktyabrsky Prospekt in Velikiye Luki. As a result, a man born in 1968 died.
