Almost 1.3 thousand ice rinks, 231 ice slides and ski trails with a total length of more than 700 km are operating in Moscow this winter, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. He talked about the main locations for winter holidays in his channel in MAX.

Among the skating rinks, Sobyanin singled out a site on Tsarskaya Embankment in the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve. This is one of the longest skating rinks in Russia with artificial ice — 1,7 km. More than 2.5 thousand people can ride here at the same time. More than 14 million glowing light bulbs create a magical "starry sky" effect in the evening, Sobyanin noted in his blog.

A multimedia skating rink with an area of more than 16,000 square meters has opened in Luzhniki. The fabulous atmosphere is created by video mapping technology, dynamic lighting and interactive installations — "Cube of Energy", "Mysterious Forest", "Magic Lake" and a 16-meter New Year's media fir tree. VDNKH has an ice rink with free skating areas, a hockey box and a playground.

A flagship trail about 13 km long has been opened for skiers in the 850th Anniversary of Moscow Park in the south-east of the capital. This is the world's largest urban highway with artificial snow and lighting along the route. The longest ski trails in the city are located in the south-west of Northern Butovo.: Alfa Bitsa (over 20 km) and Butovo Glades (over 15 km) — they connect in two places.

The mayor recommended Yauza Park near the Rostokinsky Aqueduct to roller coaster lovers — the largest natural slide in Moscow with more than 20 descent paths is located there. Also, after the modernization, the Vorobyovy Gory ski complex was reopened, the mayor recalled.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
