Reuters reported on the confirmation by the United States of plans for a military takeover of Greenland.

The United States has not abandoned plans for a military takeover of Greenland. This was reported on January 25 by the Reuters news agency.

"[US President Donald] Trump and representatives of his administration have doubled down on the possibility of using US force in Greenland. These statements have caused confusion and alarm in Washington and among US allies. On Capitol Hill, Democrats and Republicans began to worry — the administration seemed to be moving forward with a major military operation again without prior consultation with Congress," the publication says.

It is noted that among Republicans there are fears of Trump's impeachment if Greenland joins the United States.

At the same time, Reuters added that previously the plan for the military capture of Greenland was not considered seriously.
