Heavy snowfall in New York paralyzed the city
Heavy snowfall has hit New York City, causing massive power outages and shortages of groceries in stores. On January 25, Izvestia correspondent Evgenia Vlasova reported this from the city.
"Despite the fact that the cyclone in New York was known in advance, many stores were not prepared for such a large flow of people emptying shelves in a panic. There is practically nothing on the shelves in stores to take," the correspondent noted.
Residents, many of whom are facing such a snowfall for the first time, are trying to shovel snow with shovels or cars, but so far not everyone has succeeded.
"It's crazy. I've never seen anything like it. I have lived here happily for several years, this is my first snowfall. This is my first time removing snow," one of the townspeople shared.
Emergency services are on duty on the streets, and some residents are happy to skip the working day due to bad weather.
Earlier, on January 25, it was reported that abnormal frosts in the United States led to the deaths of at least seven people. Among the dead were one person in Texas and a 19-year-old college student whose body was found a day after his disappearance.
